Organic Agriculture: Terra Verde Ecofarm

Terra Verde Ecofarm

As a Manila boy, I sometimes envy my friends who have a province to visit every summer. That's why I cherish every time I have the opportunity to travel provinces here in the Philippines. Luckily, I was one of the chosen bloggers to explore the Southern Tagalog for Organic Agriculture.

Terra Verde Ecofarm

Terra Verde Ecofarm was the first on our list. Upon Arrival, I literally want to lie on the bushy green grass and surrender myself to nature. The place is covered with serenity and all I can say; "La vie est belle." After all the quarter life shenanigans we had a sumptuous lunch on a banana leaf with a glass of refreshing lemongrass tea.

We then proceed on touring the 15 hectares farm. Located in Maragondon, Cavite. Terra Verda Ecofarm started just as a family retreat place and a Doctor's prescription to one of the owners since farming releases stress. Until they went organic farming initially to provide their families safe and healthy food.

(Here's literally a Bahay Kubo with complete vegetables around it)

They just got recently accredited as an agri-tourism farm/site by Department of Tourism. It ensures 100% fresh, natural and organic harvest, following its mission "Always Fun. Always Safe. Always Fresh. Always Healthy." That is why their livestock here is free from foul smell and flies. How cool is that?

"We maximize everything here, from animals food, crops, and creating organic fertilizer." - Emerson B. Atanacio "We also want to educate consumers to visit the farms and build relationship with the farmers just like how they build relationship with their Doctors.

Here you can bond with your family while buying food supply, get educated about food safety to reduce the current high demand for commercially produced food that is filled with pesticides. plus you can support farmers too." He added.

It was dusk when we decided to go to our “kubins” it is actually a kubo/cabins which can hold 27 persons and a site for camping with tents that can accommodate 60 people. Signal here is kinda difficult and they don't offer Wi-Fi since the family promotes engagement to nature.

We didn't even get to try bonfire since it was drizzling that night. But one thing is for sure we will surely come back to try it. Lol!

The Atanacios were also planning to set up a children’s play area and a zip line, as their efforts are also towards promoting the tourism of Maragondon. Check out their Facebook for more updates.
