CARE DIVAS: A colorful look at our unsung heroes
Since I was in a theater class back when I was still studying, I've been hearing good reviews about performances from PETA or Philippine Educational Theater Association. Last Saturday, after watching Care Divas, I must say that the show exceeded my expectations. It's as if I was watching Sunday Beauty Queen (Winner of Best Picture from MMFF) in the flesh. More fab, colorful, and oozing with dialogues that capture every Filipinos struggle in a foreign land. The story goes around the lives of transgender caregivers in Israel that transform into glamorous drag performers at night. Care Divas is the current offering of PETA for its 50th season program.
In its 50 years in the industry, PETA has produced a multitude of creative artists who believe in its vision of empowering the Filipinos through the performing arts. In the same vein, Converse Philippines, a proud supporter of music and arts, upholds creativity and individuality with its featured iconic Converse sneaker and apparel used in the musical.
‘Care Divas,’ will run from February 3 to March 19, with shows at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, at PETA Theater Center, No.5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City.
For tickets, you may call TicketWorld at 891-9999 or PETA Theater at 725-6244. #ConversePHxCareDivas
