My Dermablate experience at Luminisce!

Who's a skincare addict here? If there's a prison I'll be in it thats for sure. lol However sometimes because of my busy schedule I unintentionally neglect my skincare routine. That's why I'm suffering against acne scars and discoloration from taking my skin for granted.

Good thing there are clinics to help us recuperate from our skin problems and I'm very happy Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations is always there for me. Last week, when they launch their newest treatments Dermablate & Volite I was there to see if it will suit me.

Dra. Kaycee

Dra. M

Dra. Kaycee and Dra. Maisie explained everything we need to know about the two new treatments. I asked Dra. Kaycee if is it possible to do both in one procedure. She then replied that it's better to wait 2 weeks before doing the other treatment.

Since I chose Dermablate I'm going to walk you through the process basically explaining to you what it is. Dermablate is a fractional laser that offers highly precise "ablation" or removal of material from the surface of the skin. It uses ER: Yag laser that expertly penetrates through epidermis and dermis without damaging the skin surface. It is considered a gold standard in dermatology for its exceptional precision and painless method.

Dermablate targets a number of skin issues such as; pigmentation caused by acne and sun damage, uneven texture, and signs of aging. Now that you know a little bit about the treatment let's move on with the procedure.

After cleansing
With topical anesthesia
They're going to cleanse your face first then the aesthetician will put topical anesthesia on your face for about 30 mins. It's odd when your face feels numb, little did they know I'm already numb inside.  lol! Btw, this is optional if you're maarte like me. Usually, it is not required since there is zero to minimal pain involved.

Ta-dah! I don't know what's up with me but when I heard the laser I get nervous. You can see I'm pressing my chest. Haha but yeah, they live up to their claims it's not really painful. For me, it takes less than 20 minutes with the procedure. It still depends on the skin condition though others may take 30 minutes or so.

After the procedure

Here's a close up photo as you can see there's a grid line all over my face from the laser. Also, right after the procedure, my face felt hot good thing they have an air cooling machine which I forgot what it's called. But basically, they do it during and after the laser to cool down the patient's face.

Here's my face after a couple of minutes don't worry guys it's normal to get red it is our skin reaction from the laser, don't panic. Some of the patients are totally hot red, I'm blessed to have a minimal reaction. chause!  By the way, there is no downtime which is a good thing. You can also notice a visible peeling as well as itching for 2 to 3 days just like the effect of sunburn.

- Make sure to not wash your face 4 to 6 hours after the procedure.
- Do not use an exfoliating facial wash or toners with acids like AHA or BHA same with moisturizers.
- Always use Sunscreen with SPF50
- Use mild cleanser
- Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize! (yung mild/calming ah)

After 1 week
Here's my face after 1 week with moisturizer and sunscreen. I notice a big improvement in terms of texture, tones, and elasticity in just one session. Dermablate may be done once every two weeks for up to 10 sessions during the treatment phase, and once every four to the six weeks as maintenance.

I personally love the result I wish my skin is like this all the time. I'm definitely gonna try this again on my next visit. :)

Don't put makeup until the scabbing is gone or else your makeup will cake af! Rest your skin for 1 week then awra later. :P
